The grand and elegant 290 square meter apartment, in a typically Italian style, consists of a spacious living area comprising 3 rooms: a living room, dining room, and TV room. The 4-meter-high ceilings throughout the house feature significant stucco decorations. The original early 20th-century floors are made of beautiful marble granulated "cementine".
Additionally, there are three bedrooms, a fitness room, two bathrooms with bathtubs, one bathroom with a shower, and a large kitchen. The renovation aimed to preserve the charm and original style of the house, thus maintaining all the precious original decorations and respecting the beautiful and rational layout of the rooms. This was achieved with measured interventions to make it more functional and contemporary. The furnishings and interior decorations, including both antique and contemporary artworks, vintage and designer furniture, blend modernity and irony, making this luxurious Italian home charming and exclusive.
The master bedroom is in a early 20th-century style, with a large French window leading to a pleasant balcony. Hanging from the ceiling is a handmade Venetian chandelier from the early 1900s. The wardrobe is a Tuscan country piece from the late 1800s, made of poplar wood. Adorning the walls are an original Pablo Picasso graphic work titled "Flowers, 1958", a pencil drawing by the neoclassical master Anton Raphael Mengs, and a Leopoldina antique and precious hand-drawn geographical map of Florence and its surroundings, with distances in Tuscan miles. The bed, a Queen size in full grain leather with walnut details, provides a direct passage to the preserved original bathroom with light yellow glazed ceramic diamond tiles. The shower group is an original 1920s brass chrome-plated piece, newly restored. The glass fused chandelier dates back to the 1960s. The bathtub is a modern production based on a vintage design.
In the classic bedroom, there's a unique artisanal bed made of dark cherry wood, a modernized re-edition of the classic boat design from the early 20th century. The walls are adorned with marvelous Florentine scagliola designs on simulated red granite. There's also an old Spanish trunk in lacquered green wood, traditionally used for bridal trousseau, with the bride's name inscribed.
In the contemporary bedroom, there's a Queen size anthracite leather Bond bed, designed by architects Tapinassi and Manzoni, two ebony wood bedside tables, and an elegant 9-light 1960s Sciolari chandelier. Adorning the walls are a graphic work by Alberto Burri ("Combustion 5, 1965") and a 17th-century painting depicting Perseus and the head of Medusa. The floors are oak, and the adjoining large bathroom features a hydrotherapy and chromotherapy bathtub. Adjacent to it, a veranda terrace offers an intimate and romantic space for a small breakfast.
The third bathroom, in white Verona stone, in a classic style harmonizing with the house's aesthetic, is directly adjacent to the kitchen.
The kitchen is equipped with everything necessary for those who love to cook and enjoy dinner in the intimacy and tranquility of their home, with beverages and wines provided by the house.
Finally, there's a Technogym room dedicated to fitness, equipped with cardio machines: a treadmill, exercise bike, and a bench with weights.
The building was constructed in the early 1900s, in the central part of Florence, during the decades immediately following the unification of Italy (1860), with the work of urban architect Giuseppe Poggi who gave a new face to the city by creating the Viali and the Piazzale Michelangelo. During those years, Florence was briefly the designated capital of the Kingdom of Italy (1863-1871). The 5-story building, characterized by architectural windows with mullions on the main floors, was constructed in stone, solid bricks, and mortar in just five years around 1920, with finishes of remarkable quality.
A curiosity: some of the stones used for the construction of the houses in the area came from the demolition of the ancient walls of Florence and old houses demolished to create the new ring roads.
