All of them hold extremely well due to the excellent clay and drainages. The longevity of these tanks is evidenced by the many 8 lb. – 9.5± lb. bass produced over the years.
Wildlife: The entire, old historic Chittim Ranch is renowned for producing some of the largest, low-fence whitetail deer the state has to offer. It has become recorded as one of the best native, free-range deer ranching in South Texas, in part to natural habitat and genetics accompanied by excellent management and stewardship. The hunting community is well aware of this pasture of the once vast Chittim Ranch. The ranch is under MLDP and has been intensely managed for 20+ years. Excellent brush diversity and an abundance of surface water help carry a healthy amount of native game. Turkeys roost along the drainages and the ranch offers both Bob White and Blue Quail. The tanks provide excellent dove hunting and bass fishing.
Vegetation/Elevation: The ranch has all the necessary browse to produce monster native whitetail deer. Excellent diversity is found throughout out the ranch. Good, low lying creek drainages to gently rolling hills, this ranch offers a great variety of terrain. Large mesquite, hackberry and cedar elm are present. Elevations roll from 654± feet at sea level to 744± ASL.
