The Tidewater sits at the head of Carver's Harbor on Vinalhaven island, looking due south over the world's second largest lobster fishing fleet and the open sea beyond. It comprises three conjoined structures, including a three story renovated historic grist mill. Most of the 19 guest rooms enjoy fantastic ocean views and decks overhanging the water. Guests are lulled to sleep by the extraordinary sound of tidal waters rushing through the mill race, beside and beneath the main structure, connecting Carver's Harbor and Carver's Pond. One could operate the Tidewater as it is currently designed or easily convert the former mill building (currently 6 units) into an extraordinary private residence along with the 13 original guest rooms.
