James Watt has spent his career envisioning and achieving luxury on behalf of his clients. Over more than 20 years as an industry leader with luxury retail firms such as Nordstrom, Peter Millar and Holt Renfrew, James assisted discerning customers while designing creative solutions for their specific needs and wants. He built a career by understanding what clients wanted and championed them in reaching those goals.

In 2013, after spending 20 years in the Washington, D.C. area with his wife and two children, James returned to Toronto — serving as Vice President at Holt Renfrew for 3 years before launching his highly successful real estate investment company, B.G.J. Inc. which specializes in commercial, development, and residential properties. In 2017, he dove further into real estate by joining good friend Andy Taylor and his team at Sotheby’s International Realty Canada. James has extensive credentials as a future-focused business strategist with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement solutions that consistently increase customer returns.

Having earned rare dual licensing certification with both the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB) and the Lakelands Association of Realtors (LAR), James services clients both in greater Toronto and in the highly-desired, diverse and rapidly expanding area of Collingwood/Blue Mountains and the Greater Lakelands Communities.

James splits time between metropolitan Toronto and Collingwood/Blue Mountains: “I’ve had a lifelong affinity for Collingwood and the Blue Mountains. Their surreal beauty impels outdoor activity. Everyone there is spellbound by nature … always walking, hiking, biking or boating.”

In his personal time, James is an avid supporter of both youth and professional sports. He has coached Rep Basketball and insists that he is “all in, all the time when it comes to the Raptors, Maple Leafs and Blue Jays.”
