Christo Lourantos

I grew up in a home with two sales representatives. My mother was a residential realtor and my father worked in industrial sales. Little did I know, listening to their client calls were my first lessons in real estate. After immigrating to Canada in 2004, my parents had to restart their careers, and it took incredible handwork and perseverance to rebuild their careers in a new country.

I started my real estate career early and in stages… my first job was answering calls at a Remax, and working as a personal assistant in real estate. During university, I completed my real estate licensing, and in 2013, I started as a full-time Realtor. I’m proud to say today, my first and only career was real estate!

In 2015, I joined Sotheby’s International Realty Canada with Janette.

We teamed up because we realized one of the most important things we can offer our clients, besides our expertise, was our time. Today, everyone is pressed for time, and Janette and I saw that if we work together, we can cover the gaps in each other’s schedules. Today, we’re able to offer our clients over 33 years of real estate experience, as well as more one-on-one time compared to many of our competitors.

One of my favourite things about real estate is meeting new people and building trust between each other. Within a few weeks, our clients come round to trusting us fully with one of the most important transactions in their lives, and that is very moving. It’s a privilege to work with families in such a big transaction, and one of the benefits is the relationship we forge through trust.

I am a very detail-oriented person. I actually studied Institutional Communications and English, which is the stream people study so they can write manuals and technical documents. I find a lot of satisfaction in clear and concise communication, and I think a lot of my clients do as well. I am not the type of person to overwhelm anyone with information. Instead, I make sure during my time with my clients (during our showings, during tea breaks, and through texts and emails), that we discuss everything related to buying and selling, as well as all the different options available to them in terms of location, home types, potential renovations, mortgages, anticipated rate increases/decreases, anticipated price trends and more.

One of my greatest satisfactions in real estate is the fact that many of my clients have called me months or years after buying their current home, to tell me how happy they are in the home we found them.
