Chris was the recipient of the 2009 Canadian Housing and Renewal Association's Graham Emslie Award, recognizing his leadership in affordable housing. He has also been actively involved in the real estate sector, serving as a founding member of both the Real Estate Association of Whistler and the Coast Community Builders Association. His expertise spans land development, commercial real estate, and housing development on the Coast.

Additionally, Chris served as a Councillor for the District of Sechelt, where he chaired the Airport Advisory Committee and developed a business plan for the Sechelt Airport's expansion. Beyond his work in real estate and public service, Chris is also a successful entrepreneur. Alongside his family, he transformed a small apple orchard into a thriving cidery business called Brickers Cider.
