The magnificent neo-classical style villa, Blairvocky, was erected in 1893 for Alexander Brock Buchanan (1832-1917), a banker from Montreal. From 1924 to 1955, it passed into the hands of the O'Brien family, first under Susan Mary, and then her brother, William Patrick. From 1955 to 1963, Blairvocky belonged to the architect Robert Walker Humphrey. On December 14, 1963, Marguereta Augusta Lippens, the wife of Guy Van Duyse from Scarsdale, New York, acquired this splendid villa. Of Belgian origin, the Van Duyse family renamed the house "T'Vlaams Holf" or "The Flemish House". The Van Duyse family remained owners until the mid-2000s.
Today, Blairvocky is looking for another owner to continue its rich history. There is no doubt that a passionate connoisseur of history and luxury will step forward to perpetuate the precious history of Villa Blairvocky. The historical research for the writing of this text was conducted by historian Christian Harvey, who acquired the land on October 4, 1888. After his death in 1917, the property passed to his son, Alexander Buchanan.
