For two decades, Herbie (Herbert) Ratsch has been immersed in the luxury real estate world, having been the Vice President of Intrawest’s Mont-Tremblant Resort Reservation Network, the resorts’ real estate sales director and vacation rentals director.
He has the distinction of executing a winning strategy to complete the largest sale for Sotheby's International Realty in Canada: the Kenauk Nature project in the Montebello area.
Kenauk is one of North America’s largest and longest-established private fish and game reserves, boasting more than 60 lakes within its borders.
Herbie’s honesty and unfettered professionalism are assets deemed critical when looking for your dream home or the land on which you will eventually build it. His ability to rapidly grasp and comprehend his clients’ needs were applied to his marquee sale of the incomparable Château Montebello and Kenauk.
For Kenauk it was winning a competitive bid in a very formal process and crafting a strategy for the mandate that parcelled out 65,000 acres into attractive units that would appeal to local and international buyers, as the foundation to build their dream home.
Herbie partnered to open the Sotheby’s office in Mont-Tremblant after seeing the appeal of Tremblant as an international destination: with a private jet airport, five world class golf courses, the #1 ski resort in eastern Canada along with racetracks for the Ferrari clubs, Porsche clubs.
Moreover, the properties in his book were attractive to international clientele for their beauty, their privacy, their safety and because four distinct seasonal sports and activities were on offer.
Selling real estate for Herbie unites his background in the sports world where he worked closely with the NFL, MLB, NHL, and CFL to create his business contacts. Never satisfied with the status quo, Herbie never stops expanding and perfecting his knowledge in all aspects of real estate and is constantly updating his proficiency in data, metrics, analytics and outcomes. The representation, preparation, negotiation are the capacities that drive him to surpass the needs of top flight clientele.
Now Herbie is appropriating the method that proved successful in selling multi-thousand-acre tranches in the Laurentians to properties in Montreal.
Herbie spends his weeks in Montreal and weekends with his family in Mont-Tremblant, enjoying the four seasons of sport and activity that the area offers. Every year he drives his car at the Porsche Club of North America event at Circuit Mont-Tremblant.
More recently, Herbie has perfected balancing time between client’s needs and his philanthropic goals. He is raising both money and awareness for Colorectal Cancer research.
