I was introduced to Winston by a common friend via e-mail. We first met in White Spot Oakridge mall during my visit to Vancouver with the family last October 2017, as we live in the Philippines.
My wife and I had been shopping around for a condo in Vancouver for the past 4 years but nothing ever materialized. After getting to know my wife and I more, Winston recommended several properties that he felt would suit us and our lifestyle. In one week, Winston and his colleague Tricia, accompanied us in viewing maybe close to 15 units around Vancouver. They would personally pick us up from the house, bring us to the listed properties and bring us back home.
His knowledge of the Vancouver property market is immense, most especially in the Cambie Corridor area where he specializes and he graciously shares this information with his clients, which allowed us to make better decisions in choosing a property to our liking.
One of the reason why my wife and I were apprehensive in making a serious offer for a property was the fact that we were uncertain whether we could get financing from a local financial institution in Canada, being a non-resident. Winston introduced us to a relationship officer of a Canadian bank who magnanimously assisted us in securing a mortgage.
This gave us confidence to make a compelling bid in the highly competitive Vancouver real estate market. While overseas, Winston and Tricia continued to view units for us and sent us photos and videos of different units. We made an offer for a property that my wife and I liked and fortunately we won it! Scheduled to close in 30 days, we later on found out that our loan application got rejected because of a new bank regulation.
As we were panicking, Mr. well-connected Winston, then introduced us to a mortgage broker, one of the best in town, who quickly facilitated our application and submitted it to several of the biggest Canadian banks. We asked for a few days extension from the seller to close, as facilitated by Winston and Tricia, and it was granted. In about 2-3 weeks time, we got positive feedback from TD bank approving our loan application and we were able to close just in time.
Their service did not end there, Winston also introduced me to the lawyer which i engaged to facilitate the closing, and building inspectors to check for any structural problems or leaks. Furthermore, he volunteered to help me search for an interested tenant for my unit. Eventually, he introduced me to a property management firm, which succeeded in finding a tenant for me in a weeks time.
During the turnover of the unit, Tricia even drove me to have my keys duplicated and they volunteered to do the hand-over of the unit to my tenants when the time comes. They also called BC Hydro for me to re-activate my electricity.
That is what I call complete customer service, at its finest. At the end of the day, our agent-client relationship became one of friendship, where we even had a nice round of beer on a Friday night. Another thing I appreciate about this tandem, is that they are open and honest with their opinion on properties. They don't hesitate to share connections, suppliers, information. They execute fast yet remain thorough. The time difference between Manila and Vancouver didn't seem to matter as Winston would reply even at 1am or 4am in the morning.
If i had to make a tagline for this duo, it would be "Winston & Tricia... they find ways"
