Finca Caballero takes its name from an old settlement known as the "Casas de Caballero", a hamlet belonging to the municipality of Requena. The property, which covers 1,724 hectares, is located in the heart of the Hoces del Cabriel Natural Park, 104 km from Valencia. This privileged location makes possible a unique microclimate and a natural landscape of fauna and flora thanks to the influence of the Mediterranean. The plot of the estate is fenced with a 2 metre high game fence, which protects the fauna of the area. In addition, a 10 km long road crosses the property, of which 5 km are perfectly asphalted and give access to the built-up part of the estate, the rest is gravel.
Through the asphalted road, we find a group of 3 houses. One of them, the main house of 250 m² distributed in two levels, has a garden, swimming pool, barbecue area and other facilities. Next to the main house there are two renovated houses for the service, two more buildings for the shelter of the animals, a dovecote and several warehouses for storage. There is also a livestock shed of 1000 m², with a fenced corral of approximately 2.000 m².
To supply the main house, there are two generators and several tanks, one of them with butane gas of 1000L. There is also a filtered water tank for water supply (15,000 L). In terms of cultivation, the quality of the soil and the abundance of water make this property an ideal place for all types of crops. Of its 128 cultivable hectares, 83 are irrigated. Between its three houses, the entire surface area is covered by localised drip irrigation. It has irrigation tanks, water filters and an impressive irrigation engine with six cylinders.
As for the fields, specifically the vineyards, they have all been grubbed up. The rest are already sown fields for cereal crops, with the exception of the olive trees. The abundance of water is an essential element for the profitability of irrigated crops and guarantees the sustainability of the entire estate. The property has a 25-year concession (renewable) from the Confederación Hidrográfica del Júcar for the extraction of water, either directly from the Cabriel River or from the Albosa lagoon that crosses the estate.
The Albosa lagoon, of 4 hectares with permanent water all year round, has a jetty and the possibility of fishing and hunting aquatic species. The estate also has a duly legalised hunting reserve, with an approved and valid Technical Hunting Plan. It has an acclimatization fence of 80 hectares for the introduction of big game and 4 fenced control plots, as well as 4 construction huts and a wooden turret.
