Designed by Aristides Dallas Architects, the residence follows a subterranean approach that allows the house to sit quietly within its surroundings while maintaining uninterrupted views toward the Aegean and direct proximity to the coastline.
Positioned on a 4,180 sqm plot just a short walk from the beach, the property balances privacy with openness. The architecture is defined by clean geometric forms softened by native planting, sheltered courtyards, and long horizontal lines that follow the contours of the land. Rather than dominating the site, the house appears partially embedded within it, allowing natural light, shadow, and airflow to shape the experience of the interiors throughout the day.
The approximately 425 sqm residence unfolds around a sequence of internal and external living spaces connected through wide openings and framed views. Floor-to-ceiling glazing dissolves the boundary between inside and outside, while carefully positioned courtyards introduce light deep into the interior spaces. Polished concrete, natural stone, and pale-toned finishes create a restrained material palette that reflects the colours of the Cycladic landscape beyond.
At the centre of the home, the principal living and dining area opens directly onto the pool terrace and surrounding gardens. The space is intentionally minimal yet warm, designed to emphasise proportion, light, and atmosphere rather than decoration. A fully integrated kitchen sits discreetly within the open-plan layout, while recessed seating areas and shaded transitional spaces create quieter moments throughout the house.
The four bedrooms are arranged to maximise independence and privacy, each with its own en-suite bathroom and carefully framed outlook toward the surrounding landscape or sea. The positioning of the suites allows guests to move naturally between interior spaces and private outdoor terraces without interrupting the calm rhythm of the residence.
Outdoor living is central to the property’s design. A long infinity pool runs parallel to the principal façade, visually extending toward the horizon, while sheltered courtyards and terraces create multiple areas for dining, reading, or spending time outdoors throughout the day. Native planting and drought-resistant vegetation have been integrated into the architecture itself, allowing the house to blend gradually into the natural terrain as the seasons change.
The subterranean design also responds intelligently to the Cycladic climate, using the earth for natural insulation and cooler interior temperatures during the summer months. Light enters from above through skylights and open courtyards, creating shifting patterns across the interiors from morning through late afternoon.
Although deeply private, Cascadia remains closely connected to the island’s coastal life, with nearby beaches, tavernas, and villages accessible within a short drive. The property combines architectural clarity with a strong sense of place — a contemporary interpretation of island living shaped by landscape, light, and proximity to the sea.
As evening settles across the western sky, the low stone volumes and pool terraces take on the colours of the surrounding earth, while the final light reflects softly across the water and concrete surfaces.
