Tradition meets new concepts - Webelsgrund Stud Farm


In the middle of the gently rolling landscape of the Kleiner Deister lies one of the most renowned addresses in German horse breeding: Webelsgrund Stud. Since its foundation in 1956, it has been regarded as the cradle of noble Trakehner lines and has been the birthplace of numerous licensed stallions and internationally successful sport horses. Today's property covers around 20 hectares, of which around 19 hectares are rounded pasture areas that harmoniously surround the listed ensemble of buildings. The estate is rounded off by 2.9 hectares of leased land, bringing the total area to around 23 hectares.


The area is characterized by fertile clay soil, shady groups of trees and a natural topography - an ideal place for breeding and training high-quality horses. The charming mix of historic half-timbered buildings, modern stables, indoor riding arena, horse walker, residential and administrative buildings as well as a stylishly renovated residential building with an open fireplace, parquet floors and outdoor pool offers a wide range of possible uses: from a classic stud farm to a therapy or training center to an exclusive riding facility with residence and overnight accommodation for riders.


Due to their age, the current owners have stopped running the stud farm in recent years and have rented out the stables for stallholders.

Alternative concepts, such as a rider's paradise with overnight accommodation for stallholders, a cooperative business with stallholders as shareholders or even a facility for horse-loving senior citizens are further options.


Years ago, the previous owners had plans to erect an additional building for overnight guests, but although planning permission was granted, the project never got off the ground. It should be examined whether new owners could raise the stud farm to a new level with this optional extension.


It would also be conceivable to use the stud farm as a permanent location for a nationally and internationally successful television series - this combination of equestrian facilities, countryside and residential areas provides the ideal setting for many captivating stories.
