Rich Niagara history abounds, and 456 is sited right in the thick of it all.

This area of Niagara was the home of first people of the Neutral Nation, giving way to Iroquois, Mississauga and Seneca Nations, and finally the strategic settlement and haven for the United Empire Loyalists. Niagara-On-The-Lake is recognized as the birthplace of Upper Canada, having hosted the first legislature and judicial processes mere steps eastward along Queen Street. During the war of 1812, residents of Niagara-on-the-Lake saw British, American and Native forces converging to do battle, and to this day many of the post-war buildings still stand, giving rise to the development of Ontario’s first heritage district. Exit the front gate at Queen Street, and find yourself on the Battlefield of Fort George National Historic Site grounds, or strolling onto the green at Canada’s oldest surviving (and still quite challenging!) golf course.
