Sean Farrell

Sean brings a wealth of local knowledge and an economic background to meet your real estate needs. A Greater Victoria resident since elementary school in the 1980s, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Biology from the University of Victoria.

Sean worked in the securities industry (including seven years with CIBC Wood Gundy) ahead of becoming licensed to sell real estate in 2006. Prior to transitioning his business to the excellent brand at Sotheby’s International Realty Canada, Sean’s work with his family’s real estate business at Newport Realty and Macdonald Realty included 14 years of marketing stunning waterfront and luxury properties. He now brings his extensive knowledge of real estate law to work for his clients at Sotheby’s.

Qualified as both a buyer’s agent and a listing agent, Sean's 16 years experience as a licensee, not to mention growing up in a real estate family, provides him with the tools and knowledge to work comfortably in all price ranges including: luxury properties, first time home buyers, investment properties, new home construction, land assemblies and many more real estate opportunities. Sean is very focused on all aspects of a transaction, from legal considerations and logistics right down to the smallest details that are important for his clients. HIs professional and easy-going nature finds Sean comfortable with almost anyone he meets both professionally as well as socially.

In 2008, Sean served on the MLS® and Computer Services Committee at the Victoria Real Estate Board and was involved in a number of Board task forces. Sean was also Chair of the Safety Committee of Victoria Classic Boat Festival in 2008 and 2009.

“I love getting out on the water,” Sean says. An accomplished sailor and mariner, Sean served as a search and rescue volunteer with the Coast Guard Auxiliary prior to starting his career in real estate. Always happy to get outdoors, he also enjoys skiing and boarding, scuba diving and getting into nature with walks and hikes in the many regional parks and trails. As the pandemic winds down he hopes to rekindle his high school passion for playing tennis.
