Novelda is a municipality located in the province of Alicante, Spain. Known for its production of grapes, saffron and marble. The town had 25,741 inhabitants in 2020.
Broadly speaking, Novelda is located in the outer area of the Betic mountain ranges in front of the beaches of Costa Blanca, where the Vinalopó River runs, which crosses the entire territory from northwest to southeast. It is a city known for its architecture, forming part of the European Route of Modernism, because it stands out for some houses and buildings built from the late nineteenth century to the early twentieth century.
It is located 28 kilometers from Alicante and 18 kilometers from international airport. It has excellent communications by the motorway and the national road N-330.
Starting from Alicante international airport people take the road to North Costa Blanca, towards Benidorm, Altea, Valencia, Denia, Javea… or South towards Guardamar, Orihuela, Torrevieja and Murcia or West towards Castilla La Mancha. Costa Blanca has more than 200 kilometers along its coast. Costa Blanca is divided into southern (from Alicante to Pilar de la Horadada) and northern (from Alicante to Denia) parts. Within 8 km there are mountain ranges that block the colder air masses. This is one of the factors which ensure a comfortable climate in the area during all the year. The average annual temperature is +20°C and the weather is warm and sunny for 300 days a year. The vegetation consists of palm trees, orange trees and lemon trees. The south Costa Blanca is also more typical “Spanish”. The coastline of the South Costa Blanca is flat with some Salt lakes, orange and lemon trees and white long sand beaches. Spain´s Costa Blanca was recently revealed as the most popular area for international buyers. But one area has attracted more new residents than any other. Property sales have bounced back since the pandemic, but according to Olive Press one area has sold more houses than in 2019. The most popular area in Costa Blanca was on the south of Costa Blanca near Golf resorts (Torrevieja and Orihuela coastal areas). A favourite with British buyers, Orihuela was also one of the top property hotspots in 2021.
