Area Description

Starting from Alicante international airport people take the road to North Costa Blanca, towards Benidorm, Altea, Valencia, Denia, Javea… or South towards Guardamar, Orihuela, Torrevieja and Murcia or West towards Castilla La Mancha.
Costa Blanca has more than 200 kilometres along its coast. Costa Blanca is divided into southern (from Alicante to Pilar de la Horadada) and northern (from Alicante to Denia) parts.
Within 8 km there are mountain ranges that block the colder air masses. This is one of the factors which ensure a comfortable climate in the area during all the year. The average annual temperature is +20°C and the weather is warm and sunny for 300 days a year.
The south Costa Blanca is also more typical “Spanish”. The coastline of the South Costa Blanca is flat with some Salt lakes, orange and limon trees and white long sand beaches.
Next to Santa Pola is the first Salt Lake, the Salinas de Santa Pola. Guardamar del Segura beach is a picture-perfect example for a perfect Mediterranean beach.
Nearby there are different golf and country clubs and resorts well-known by the expats. In the last years, a lot of new constructions of homes with small plots have grown up in the towns closest to the coast. Tourists come to the south coast of Costa Blanca for the famous and developed resorts, the main ones are Alicante city, Guardamar del Segura, Torrevieja, Algorfa, Pilar de la Horadada, Ciudad Quesada, Orihuela Costa, Las Colinas & Los Montesinos. The international airport of Alicante is 36 km from Guardamar, connecting by motorway AP-7 and National road N-332 with Valencia, Madrid and Barcelona.
