Property Description

We offer for purchase a unique property in Ķīpsala, on the Daugava river, with a wonderful view of the historical centre of Riga. Just a few minutes drive to the Old Town and the quiet centre of Riga. Kipsala is a picturesque and quiet district of Riga, located on an island in the Daugava River, and is known for its charming historic wooden architecture, picturesque views and tranquility. Beautifully preserved and restored wooden buildings give the area a unique character and charm and make it one of the most sought-after areas for residents to live and invest in. Ķīpsala is a popular destination for art and culture enthusiasts, with a number of art galleries, studios and cultural institutions scattered throughout the area. In addition to cultural and natural attractions, Ķīpsala has a variety of cafes, restaurants and shops, and sports and health services. Nature lovers will appreciate the unique location of the Ķīpsala waterfront, which offers breathtaking views of the Daugava River and Riga's historic skyline, the towers of the Old Town, and ships entering the harbour.
We offer for purchase a property consisting of a large plot of land and a residential building. The residential building is a unique architectural masterpiece by architect Zaiga Gaile and her team. The spacious residential building has been designed and built with great attention to comfort, well-being, interior and exterior details, preservation of cultural heritage combined with modern conveniences and up-to-date features. The architect has combined the architecture of three centuries - a 19th century classical wooden house and a 1930s functionalist stone building are joined by a 21st century new building. The new interior of the wooden part of the house retains the 19th century atmosphere, while the functionalist part of the house is Art Deco. The construction and finishing of the house uses natural materials - wood, stone, metal, lime mortar, natural pigment paints - combined with modern materials and technologies. For cosiness and convenience, a large cast-iron hearth has been specially made for the house by La Cornue, a centuries-old family-run company in France. Each craftsman has done his work professionally and with special care: the restored wooden beams of the house have been staplelessly joined with old-style notches, the glazier has created stained-glass windows in metal frames, the copper profiles on the ceiling and the entrance door have been hand-bent, the restorer has restored the old wall decorations from old samples. A spacious and well-maintained English-style garden has been created for happy moments of relaxation, with an illuminated stone path and benches, exotic plants, preserved old trees and a lawn with a fountain "Bird" by artist Ilmārs Blumbergs in the centre. The wooden part of the house has a storage room for artworks, a spacious Venetian-style study with a library and a master bedroom with a balcony, a spacious bathroom and a walk-in wardrobe. The stone house has a wine cellar, a study, two bedrooms with bathrooms and a roof terrace in a tower overlooking the Daugava River, the boat dock and the city. The new middle part has an underground garage, a kitchen, three large halls and a green roof air garden. The ground floor is complemented by a light glass structure, the Bath House, with teak floors, luxurious marble slabs and a pool made of Sicis Natural glass stones using Murano glass production techniques. The Bath House has a fully opening glass wall, which allows you to combine the indoor space and the beautiful garden. The pool hall is complemented by a sauna, massage room and restrooms. The building has a panoramic elevator that allows you to easily move around the 4 floors of the building and enjoy the aesthetic surroundings through the glass wall. A unique property in Ķīpsala, on the promenade of the Daugava river for those who enjoy life!
