Area Description

Remagen is an independent town in the district of Ahrweiler in Rhineland-Palatinate, located on the left bank of the Middle Rhine. In the north it borders on the district of Bad Godesberg in the Federal City of Bonn.

Remagen is the location of the RheinAhrCampus. According to state planning, it is designated as a medium-sized center.

The tourist resort of Remagen, located in the northern Middle Rhine Valley, became known far beyond the borders of Germany with the construction of the railway line between Cologne and Koblenz and the beginning of motorization of shipping.

Oberwinter is one of six districts and at the same time one of eight districts of the independent city of Remagen in the district of Ahrweiler in the north of Rhineland-Palatinate.

Catholic and Protestant parishes as well as over 30 clubs actively contribute to community life. The picturesque town center on the Rhine consists largely of well-kept half-timbered houses. Various restaurants and cafés advertise to local guests and the users of the cycle path who stop by in summer. The harbor with its yacht clubs invites you to spend your free time on the water.
