As Corporate Counsel, Ontario & Manager, Administration at Sotheby’s International Realty Canada, Madeleine Tyber brings a wealth of experience in legal counsel, real estate law, compliance issues, and strategic support.
Prior to joining Sotheby’s International Realty Canada, Madeleine was part of the Compliance Counsel for Lawyers’ Professional Indemnity Company. She received her JD from Queen’s University and completed a semester abroad at the Université Jean Moulin Lyon III in International and European Business Law. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours from the University of King’s College and Dalhousie University; and completed a Master of Arts in History at Wilfrid Laurier University, where she received the Ontario Graduate Scholarship and a Dean of Graduate Studies Scholarship.
Madeleine is an active member of the Ontario Bar Association. She currently serves as an executive member of the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association - Ontario Chapter and the Young Lawyers Division - Central sections. Madeleine recently chaired programs related to the future of legal technology and the regulation of disruptive technologies. She regularly volunteers with the Alzheimer’s Society of Toronto and her schools’ alumni associations.
In her position, Madeleine provides legal oversight and counsel to Sotheby's International Realty Canada in Ontario, oversees transaction auditing and file review, supports brokerage operations, and champions special projects and initiatives.
