Effi Barak

As Interim President of Sotheby’s International Realty Canada, Effi Barak is an accomplished corporate executive with a strong background in leading organizations in the areas of strategy, operations and finance.

Most recently, Effi was the Chief Financial Officer of McCarthy Tétrault LLP, one of Canada’s leading national law firms, where he played a leading role in shaping the firm’s strategy and operations.

Prior to this, he held multiple leadership roles at RE/MAX INTEGRA leading the company across both the U.S. and Canada. During his tenure Effi led the company to record-setting agent and transaction growth and operational efficiency, while delivering innovative technology strategies that increased agent engagement and market reach.

Effi’s career also includes senior roles with global industry leaders such as Whirlpool Corporation and Alcan Global Aerospace, Transportation & Industry where he directed major finance and strategic planning efforts. His expertise across the real estate, legal, technology, and professional services sectors is underpinned by his foundation in strategic consulting and financial advisory with McKinsey & Company and KPMG.

Effi holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, an LLB and Master of Law from Tel Aviv University, and is also a certified CPA.
