A Fashion Love Affair started in 2011 as a place for Cara McLeay to share her inspirations and love for fashion, travel and everything in between. Chronicling her daily life and style has taken Cara on a journey from fashion enthusiast to industry professional.

Cara’s Vancouver condo near Stanley Park is just as you would imagine. It is simple, bright and modern with small touches that really take the décor to the next level-much like Cara does with her outfit styling. We loved the bold wallpaper on her office area that stands out against the condo’s neutral palette.

We sat down with Cara to discuss her real estate experiences and what she loves so much about her home:

1 Think back to the first place you lived in on your own, what were your walls decorated with?

CM: Oh my goodness… bad posters and prints from my trip with my sister to Europe!

2 What did you love most about the first place you purchased?

CM: I love the location – I can see the ocean from my living room & bedroom and that makes me happy everyday when I wake up.

3 How would you describe your interior design style now?

CM: Modern & minimalist. I like a look that is welcoming for family, friends and my dog, but that still looks put together and is clear of clutter.

4 What room do you spend the most time in now?

CM: I spend the most time in the living room! It is the gathering room for my home and is great place to relax.

5 What is the #1 feature you’d look for in your next home?

CM: A big deck – I love having coffee outside in the morning.

6 What does your dream home look like?

CM:  I love the outdoors, and dream about having a home that is simple and mostly made of windows. I would love to have retractable doors that would just open and disappear.
