Jillian Lansky started The August Diaries, the Vancouver-based personal style and fashion blog, in August of 2011 as a creative and inspirational outlet for herself. Since then she has seen great success and has been featured in countless publications. As a digital and style influencer, she empowers her readers to become the best version of themselves.
Jillian’s home on the North Shore of Vancouver absolutely reflects her style, which is described as “European chic meets West Coast sophistication”. The greenery inside (and outside!) shines while the clean lines and wood take it to the next level.
We sat down with Jillian to discuss her real estate experiences and what she loves so much about her home:
1. Think back to the first place you lived in on your own, what were your walls decorated with?
JL: Not much! I painted the walls stark white and put up some abstract art I’d found for very cheap, which stood out beautifully against the white.
2. What did you love most about the first place you purchased?
JL: I haven’t purchased one yet… I’ll let you know!

JL: Minimalistic, clean and simple. I love clean lines with very little clutter, but I want my space to be warm and inviting.
4. What room do you spend the most time in now?
JL: I love to hang out in the kitchen… My life kind of revolves around eating and drinking.

JL: A bright and beautiful bathroom… I love to take my time and hang out in the bathroom. And a big closet, obviously!
6. What does your dream home look like?
JL: Contemporary, clean and modern… but still cozy. I want people to feel like they can get comfortable in my home. But I also need it to be practical as I have a dog and am quite the klutz myself.
