If you know Tiffany Pratt, mega designer extraordinaire, the first thing you think of is colour. No question about it. She lives to make this world a warmer, more colourful and vibrant place. Knowing this, her home in the Beaches area of Toronto should not surprise you. It will put a smile on your face and we can almost guarantee it will have you questioning where you can add a splash of colour in your home.

We sat down with Tiffany to discuss her real estate experiences and what she loves so much about her home:

1. Think back to the first place you lived in on your own, what were your walls decorated with?

TP: The first place I lived in on my own was a three storey walk up apartment in Bondi Beach, Australia.  It had white plaster walls and a mosquito net over the bed.  I had a collage of inspirations, photos of friends and family and Japanese paper taped to the wall. Paintings that I was working on were propped on the floor around the rest of the room.  It was fresh, temporary and bohemian.

2. What did you love most about the first place you purchased?

TP: The first home that I purchased was a centre hall colonial home with original slate floors and moulding – I was in heaven.  There was a sun porch off the kitchen and the whole main floor was filled with light. The icing on the cake was the big fireplace in the formal living room.

3. How would you describe your interior design style now?

TP: High style with a twist. Original. One-of a-kind. Custom. Loved.

4. What room do you spend the most time in now?

TP: I spend the most time in my studio/living room space.  This room is where I create, craft, draw, paint, dream, organize, fuel, store, compute and meet in.  It is the hub of my home and it has the most stunning morning light that hits a mirror ball I strategically placed on my floor in the sun spot so it glitters my walls… if only for a few minutes.

5. What is the #1 feature you’d look for in your next home?

TP: I would look for history that has been respected.  I would love old details that have remained over time and some forgotten spaces that lend to opportunities for me to sprinkle in some new magic.  I do not have expectations of what it will be. I just know that I will know it when I see it.

6. What does your dream home look like?

TP: It will have a pink exterior with an epic flower garden.  It will be loved and tinkered in endlessly and the projects within it will be a never-ending love affair.  The entrance will be welcoming and it will look just like the home that people would expect me to live in.
